Roundtable on Education for People with Disabilities in Informal Learning

As part of a project analyzing the needs and barriers in the education of adults with disabilities in informal learning, a roundtable was held. The goal of the event was to discuss the current issues and challenges faced by people with disabilities, as well as to identify barriers limiting their access to quality educational programs.

During the discussion, participants raised several key issues, including:

  • The lack of specialized educational materials and resources.
  • Problems with the physical accessibility of educational institutions.
  • Limited access to qualified teachers capable of working with people with disabilities.
  • The need to develop individualized learning programs.

Special attention was given to developing recommendations to improve the accessibility and quality of educational programs for this group of people. We concluded that the most important step is to create an inclusive educational environment that takes into account the diverse needs and abilities of people with disabilities.

Our recommendations include:

  • The development and implementation of specialized courses adapted for people with various types of disabilities.
  • Improving the physical accessibility of educational institutions by adapting the infrastructure.
  • Training educators to work with inclusive groups.
  • Developing technologies and digital resources for distance learning, which will open up new opportunities for people with disabilities.

Together with experts, organizations, and government representatives, we will continue working on improving access to education for all, regardless of physical abilities. This is just the beginning of a long journey, and we are confident that through our joint efforts, we can create a more inclusive future for people with disabilities in the field of education.
