Inclusive Education in the Kyrgyz Republic: basic concepts, legal framework and principles, approaches, problems and prospects

Inclusive Education: New Knowledge and Competences for Teachers in Nookat region!

25 teachers from Nookat region , including methodologists-coordinators, representatives of preschool and general education institutions, as well as social pedagogues, took part in the information session on “Inclusive Education in the Kyrgyz Republic: basic concepts, legal framework and principles, approaches, problems and prospects”.

The aim of the session was to form competences of the participants necessary for working in the conditions of inclusion, as well as to develop tolerant attitudes of teachers towards children with disabilities.

During the session the participants discussed:

* Familiarised themselves with the basic concepts of inclusive education;

* Studied the legal basis and principles of inclusive education in the Kyrgyz Republic;

* Considered different approaches to the implementation of inclusive education;

* Discussed the problems and prospects for the development of inclusive education in Kyrgyzstan.

The participants of the session appreciated the knowledge and skills learnt and the importance of continuing learning in this field.Inclusive education is an important step towards an inclusive society in which all children, regardless of their capabilities, have equal rights and opportunities to receive quality education.
