Foresight session “Vectors of the Future: Directions for the Development of Adult Learning and Education in Kyrgyzstan”

On October 7 AED organized a foresight session “Vectors of the Future: Directions for the Development of Adult Learning and Education in Kyrgyzstan” as part of the 5th Adult Education Decade.

The purpose of the event was to form a shared vision for the future development of the adult learning and education system, taking into account modern challenges and societal needs. Throughout the day, representatives from government bodies, educational institutions, the non-profit sector, and international partners discussed global and local changes affecting adult education, analyzed the roles of key stakeholders, and collaboratively explored ways to make learning more accessible, modern, and sustainable.

The session was led by Irina Chistyakova, a methodologist, media trainer, and andragog with over twenty years of experience. Participants not only exchanged opinions but also identified the “Vectors of the Future for Adult Education,” which will serve as a foundation for further steps to improve this sector.

The event confirmed that collaborative work among all stakeholders—government, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, and partners—enables the establishment of a sustainable and open adult education system in Kyrgyzstan that meets contemporary challenges and societal needs.
